TUESDAY, JULY 22, 2014

I have been a little behind in the blog updates.  I am so exhausted by the end of the day, and I spend the mornings hiking and sorting through photos.  The humidity really does wear me out...I have had several people on FB ask me about the pictures that I am posting and what camera I am using.  Many of the FB pics are actually with my iPhone.  I can post them immediately.  The pics on the blog are taken with my new camera, a Canon Rebel SL1 using either a 55mm-250 or a wide angle 10mm-18mm.
Of the group, I am the early to bed and early to rise senior citizen!  I usually head out early in the morning for a hike, looking for some interesting shots at the beach or just around the neighborhood.  There are chickens and lizards everywhere.  I love the lizards because they eat the mosquitos and noseums.  There is a large (4 foot) lizard that hangs out about a block from us.  I have yet to see him or get a pic.  Tanner has seen him a few times before we arrived.

We have had a great time shopping and eating and drinking.  The island is beautiful and extremely laid back, if that is what you want.  If you want to kick it up a notch and hit the nightlife hard, they have that as well.  I had my first Cuban Sandwich last night.  It was delish!

I think today is going to be a laid back, hang at the house and the pool, kind of day.  We will probably catch up on some laundry and restock the frig...maybe a fish fry tonight with some of the fish that Tanner caught last week when he went deep sea fishing.  Tomorrow, we have a day trip planned to Bahia Honda State Park for snorkeling and a cook out, on Thursday it is the big birthday party with skydiving (no, I will wait on the ground) and Friday, we have booked a day trip to Dry Tortugas National Park.  This will be a fast and fun few days!
